BUH-BYE, BRIAN
Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that the Baltimore Ravens have fired coach Brian Billick.
The move comes despite insistence from Billick that he'd return for a tenth season, and despite a report in the Baltimore Sun citing an unnamed source close to owner Steve Bisciotti that Billick would be back.
We never believed any of it. It was obvious that it was time for a change in Baltimore, and a change has indeed been made.
As the rumor goes, Bisciotti considered firing Billick after the 2005 season, but the owner decided that he couldn't do better with a devil he didn't know. Based on 2007, Bisciotti might have concluded that he can't do much worse.

I'm glad. I'm betting my last dollar, they either get Mike Martz, or promote Rex Ryan, and still bring in another offensive and defensive coordinator.
I can not remember the guy's name but he is the offensive coordinator for Dallas. Jason Garrett?? Is that it? Don't be surprised if you hear his name out there as a head coach somewhere.
Garrett's already been mentioned for ATL.
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
Billick could easily wind up in Miami IMO...he'd be a good fit rebuilding that franchise with Parcells.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
Maurice Carthon is the obvious candidate for Miami.
Mike Martz is one of the worst coordinators in the league. Any team that hires him would be completely blind.
I just wouldn't trust a team to carthon...he was a great FB but i just have reservations there...I like Parcells, but i hate miami. Even so, I hope he does well there.

mega is right on. He's a Parcells guy and his been in the thick of a lot of HC positions the last 3-4 years. If it wasn't for Parcells and "his guys" I would think Singletary would end up there, but Carthon is very logical.
